A dead perch ( not the fish) on one end of the spring would do double duty. Way cool car.

A dead perch mounts the spring eye without a shackle...lets it pivot but not travel laterally. Don't know what your axle is, but you might find one that works in that scale.....🤔 ( How was that Woody?)

O.K...Blew up the pic. so I could see....🤔 ..Maybe replace one shackle w/ A triangular plate that uses the axle/spring and radius rod mounting holes. Or just "leave" what you have. (Woody started it ) 😀

Got room to have the fuel tank between the grille and radiator.  It would sure clean up the front (and look a lot better in my opinion, too).

Wouldn't have to be too big -- a gallon would do it.  Running TO makes it easy to fill whenever you want to, plus going 175 in the 1/4 may be beyond reach for needing 5 miles of fuel.

I've loved your car since years back I (think) remember seeing at El Mirage before you finished it.

This Austin engine.... Is that the dreaded "Austin 7" 4 cylinders with just 2 bearings on the outside of the crank?

Flexy flexy!!!

But I must say, very tasty little car!!!

The pics were not as fowl as I expected from the thread title.
