Handyguy, I'm sure I see this coming:  You're gonna get some of the guys here whining that you didn't post enough pictures, and then you'll protest that it's a pain in the kiester to post photos, then I'll swoop in and offer to help you with getting lots of images in your build diary.  Therefore, to save time:

If you'd like me to show you ways to do it, or if you want me just to shut up and post 'em for you - please feel free to ask.

This goes for all of you, remember.  I'm glad to help.

I'm a bit slow....With shackles at the ends, how does your panhard set-up limit lateral movement?

It looks to me that the Panhard bar is behind the axle. I can't figure out the purpose of the stuff in front.

Steve --

I like those friction shocks, never seen them utilized that way before.

Could you mount them 180? (uspside down) and keep them from hanging down underneath?

That's A LOT of spring under the front end. Wouldn't one or two leaves be about right?

Hi all,

I suppose the lateral movement could have been controlled by the shocks absorbers if they were not mounted via shackles?

Then get rid of the Panhard bar?

I like double use of stuff, shows lateral thinking and innovation.

Then, as the chassis end up in the middle of the axle, how much suspension movement is shared between leaf spring and chassis twisting?

I think as the frame goes down ,( the axle goes up ) the arms shorten a little ..  I'll test later ..  The frame is boxed,  so little twist there .  The engine is '37 English Austin 48  cu. in. flattie , same engine as in Bantam originally . Bantam engines very rare , like this car ..   English engine development is extensive and I work with Paul Bonewell in London ,  THE EXPERT .
