The car is there just not finished. It will take time. Contact Doug Herbert on Facebook.

I just read an interesting story about Doug Herbert becoming a commercial pilot. In the story he stated that he would be racing his 5000hp streamliner at the Bonneville salt flats in 2023. I can only hope.

LSR cars take time to build... especially if you don't have a full time crew of builders working on it.  :-o
I hope we get to see it on the salt next year...

I get the pleasure to talk with Doug about once a year on the phone, Seems like a great guy. But honestly I don't know if this dream will come true. would love to see it happen for him.

I don't know for sure what it is but I get the feeling he is just too busy to get focused on it.

Really glad to see that Doug is making good progress on what certainly looks like a car that could be a threat to 500. Looks like probably 2025 unless they get into a real thrash to make this year.

There doesn't appear to be any more car there than there was years ago!

Very cool video i just don't understand why he says it's the fastest lsr car when it's not even finished. I hope he does get the car done so we all can see it run on the great white dyno.

I think this build has been on going for about 15 years. If it stalls out long enough, I will have won the Lotto and have bought it from him. Actually if he ever does get it done it will be a serious player.

Just to update everyone. Doug I know wants to debut this car this year. I also know the motors have been run on the dyno very recently and that they are connected to the trans etc in the car. There is very little left to do and there is an ?urgency? to get it done and out there.

Yep, the last 10% only takes 90% of the build time...

No that is not correct. I do know there is actually little to do.
