This is just a partial report on what happened last week, I'll add to it once more information becomes available.
We started a bit early (Tuesday afternoon) as an individual had contacted us regarding a private rental. This person was generous enough to allow other competitors who were already on site and ready, to run while he was on the return road.
The regular event started Wednesday afternoon as planned. Then the weather decided to frustrate us. Both Thursday and Friday were wet in the morning which led to a slow start but we did run both afternoons until the rain got serious. Wind was pretty much across the track and for the first time in memory we had an easterly.
Saturday dawned brighter but with a 20 mph headwind. Folks still got all the runs in that they wanted; fast run of the meet was Rich Prosser with a 237 (into that headwind!). It was a good, safe event but lightly attended. September is usually much better weather but the tropical storms/hurricanes can change that fairly quickly and we suspect that might have had an impact on attendance.
It's good to be home but personally speaking, I'm already planning changes for next July.
