How can Speed Demon be so fast without all that traction enhancing lead ballastaktion086

Good design . Body shape causes low pressure beneath the body and waste gate traction control individually preset for each gear .

Sarcasm is a waste of time on the internet. Didn't   aktion086  give you an indication I was being facetious when I mentioned traction enhancing lead ballast.?

Speed Demon is faster because they are smarter. Simple as that.

I will disagree with you on that statement. There are some very smart people who race at Bonneville.

Yep! There are a lot of smart people with good common sense who could solve any problem including speed but without the dollars to make it happen it is very difficult to overcome. This is why I congratulate all the accomplishments of this team.  They have the wherewithal to bring a great organization together to accomplish their goals and then reset the goal to a higher bar.

Good answers by all and generally correct. I have long admired George Poteets team that he has brought together. Some would say he has" bought " together. When you look at the incredible speeds he achieves, do you really want him doing it on a budget. I don't think so. I'm glade he has the means to do it at a high level.

Then why aren't they going as fast as Speed Demon? Marlo Treit has spent a lot of money, but where are the records?

Who are these smart people? Enquiring minds want to know.

Run the engine at low/mid range r.p.m on electronics then transition to mechanical at high revs? You would get massive flow of fuel and the O2 sensors and ecu  will fine tune the mixture. SWAG.

I withdraw my good answers by all comment. # 66 roaster C engine and no blower 296mph through 3 miles. They're genious'.   We need an affordable class like CIR, but without the restrictions to run as "heads up". Actually C/gas roadster is sorta like that now. Beefy boy, your example of Marlo is fraught with error

It's obvious that George has out-spent everybody else many times over but I look at it this way. If I had it to spend would I, hell yeah!
