A sad note on the passing of Joe Fontana. Back in the day Joe ran a Studebaker powered by a GMC with a Skinner 12 port head on fuel. Later when in his late 80's got a ride in Don Ferguson's streamliner and a 2 club hat.  For those who  would like attend, the services will be held on July 13th at 10:00 AM at St, Lawrence Martyr Church , 1940 S. Prospect Ave, Redondo Beach CA 90277. Rest in Piece Old Friend

I remember Joe well. He was one of my dad's best customers, using Wayne equipment before the Skinner project.

RIP Joe

I met Joe in the 70?s at Bonneville.  He was happy to see another GMC going fast. Joe was a mentor and friend. Without him my son Patrick and I would not be in the 200 mph club. The 8 years years we partnered with him was a joy and one of my greatest experiences. He was my friend and I will miss him. Joe would have been 97 in September. His service was well attended. May he Rest In Peace.
