$12,000 2JZGTE 3.0 Liter Race Engine
« on: July 07, 2021, 03:24:03 PM »
This engine was built by Ted Wenz (200 MPH Club member) when a partner at Marcovicci-Wenz Race Engineering, a race engine shop that built road racing engines and road circuit endurance engines for amatuer and professional race teams. This engine was built to power an "F? class streamliner that never happened. The engine was built to produce a reliable 1100 horsepower and as you can see from the pictures, a dry sump system is fully installed as is an external water pump. Both turbo header and induction were not completed until the chassis was built in order to get packaging correct. However, the turbo does come with the engine.

This engine was never dynoed so it is fresh. Perfect opportunity for someone to get a professionally built race engine for less than half price. For anyone desiring to run in F/BXX classes, this is your engine.

If asking price is met, I will throw in a spare but usable block, head and crankshaft.

Asking $12,000 OBO plus shipping.

OK, no takers on the engine so let?s sweeten the deal. I have a hand made aluminum adapter that fits a 1992 Lola Indy car 5-speed transmission (Hewland internals) with limited slip diff and mates to the 2JZ. This transaxle utilizes a drop gear similar to a quick change but was used to raise axle height and give the Lola Indy car a more horizontal half shaft orientation. The gearbox is currently dis assembled but all the parts are there. I will also toss in a brand new AP 5.5 inch, three disc clutch and several gear sets for the transmission. This gearbox will handle just about any horsepower you have and would take around $10,000 to replace. It was purchased solely to use behind the turbo 2JZ.

So, that?s it. Everything for $15K. Other than giving it away, I don?t know how to make this more enticing.

I?m not a car guy, but this seems like a steal.

Have you posted this on Toyota forums? There must be a market for such a high output 2JZ example.

I tried RacingJunk.com but all that did was attract fraudsters. Not really sure which Toyota forum?s would be best but without a build sheet, nobody seems interested even when I said I can pull the pan and ID all bottom end internals. I can do the same by removing cam covers to ID top end components. But my engine, transaxle and related components were made for LSR. It is here where I would like to see them used. You are correct, $15K for engine trans and related parts, is an out and out steal. I hope someone recognizes this.
