Any upcoming or past G/GMR builds?
« on: April 09, 2021, 04:43:51 PM »
Hi all,

I'm just curious if anyone out there is currently building, or has previously built, a G/GMR or G/BGMR car?  1.5 to 2.0L class.

I'm moving on from napkin stage of my project to actual drawings and I'm trying to settle on a practical wheelbase and drivetrain.  With this smaller motor going in a 26/27 roadster body, I have plenty of space up front.  I do not technically need to stretch the wheelbase out and I do not see a lot of gains from making a huge car.  I'm just curoius what has been tried before out there and if I could chat with anyone who has been down this road before.

You don't want to make it too small. Remember fire bottles. water tank, and fuel tank all take up space.

I can get you in contact with Chad Zupan if you want. He is the current record holder for the G/FMR record and is a really nice guy. IM me if you are interested.
Records or parts, I didn't come all this way not to break something.

I had the G/ GR record for a while in this car. And ran it with a nose in V4F/GMR after that. Had the El Mo record for a coupe of months.

I would definitely appreciate a conversation with Mr. Zupan if you wouldn't mind putting me in touch!  I saw he hit the 200MPH marker, really impressive.

Very nice!  What motor were you using if you don't mind sharing?

Great point, I do need to mock up everything in a tidy fashion

Very cool, that's the grandfather to all modern twin cam fours it feels like.  Ever have it on a dyno to see how much power it was putting down?

I think Mike Yoder (KKMike) runs a G/GMR, might shoot him a PM
