PRICE REDUCED! 2JZGTE 3.0 Liter Race Engine (Fresh)
« on: February 08, 2021, 06:03:19 PM »
This engine was built by Ted Wenz (200 MPH Club member) when a partner at Marcovicci-Wenz Race Engineering, a race engine shop that built road racing engines and road circuit endurance engines for amatuer and professional race teams. This engine was built to power an "F? class streamliner that never happened. The engine was built to produce a reliable 1100 horsepower and as you can see from the pictures, a dry sump system is fully installed as is an external water pump. Both turbo header and induction were not completed until the chassis was built in order to get packaging correct. However, the turbo does come with the engine.

This engine was never dynoed so it is fresh. Perfect opportunity for someone to get a professionally built race engine for less than half price. For anyone desiring to run in F/BXX classes, this is your engine.

If asking price is met, I will throw in a spare but usable block, head and crankshaft.

Asking $15,000 OBO plus shipping.

Complete 50,000 mile 2JZ-GTE engines with ECM and auto trans: $2995.00 + shipping.

Perhaps a list of parts used and operations would generate more interest?

John,

Your motor is a great deal for someone out there. For specialty motors I have found out you cannot be in a hurry to sell them, and you have to find the right person. Which can be frustrating to say the least, along with the tire kickers who are only interested if they can get the motor for their price which is usually give away pricing.

Hang in there and someone will buy it, and have a great motor.

Tom G.

PS. I recently put something on Craigslist to sell. I had six offers in the first 4 hours emailed to me at about 50% of my asking price. So I don't even reply to those people. Then someone who really wanted what I was selling sent me an email without an offer and wanted more information about what I was selling. I called him and we talked. He came the next day and gave me my asking price, and was happy to get it.
I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Asking questions is one's only way of getting answers.

The rational person lets verified facts form or modify his opinion.  The ideologue ignores verified facts which don't fit his preconceived opinions.

John, drop this motor in your two door chevy.  Probably double the horsepower of the boat anchor in there now.  Plus, think of the novelty!  People would line up just to look under the hood.  And you wouldn't have to replace/update the Navajo blanket seat covers.

Sure looks like a fantastic engine.  I would love it and was thinking of a 3L 2JZ for my RMR.  My biggest hesitation, and I suspect many other people have the same reservation, is if the motor was ready to run, just add fuel, there would be a lot more interest.  For me to finish the motor and tune it, I would be afraid of damaging/wearing out the motor getting it dialed in.  That tuning and knowledge base was with the builder/tuner of the motor, and I assume that is no longer available.  They would also know exactly what was in the motor.

OK, let?s see if a further price reduction will do the trick. $13K and that will get you everything originally listed plus a spare block, crank, bare head and six rods (all stock). If you can use it, I have an adapter kit with custom flex plate to mate up a GM TH400 or any other GM automatic of similar bolt pattern.

John,

What happened? That engine was going to get your itty bitty car to 300. White Goose Bar has two, soon to be four cars using this set up. Roadster 265 mph, streamliner 322 mph. A good choice for someone's racing needs.

Hi Dan:

It is still a great idea but requires a partner to complete. Just not possible to do on my own. Since putting it out there that I have this race prepared 2JZ, I have added a 2013 C6 Corvette automatic transmission with two of the highest differentials ratios available. I also have a transmission to engine adapter kit. So, there is a lot there to complete the conversion. What is most needed is a partner that can competently change the rear end of the car to accept the new drive train. If I could find such a partner, I would purchase everything needed to complete the engine. So, without that partner, I need to sell the 2JZ so I can concentrate on my 2.0L four cylinder engines.
