With a bike stretching the wheelbase at the swingarm, the near 50/50 weight distribution from the stock bike effectively shifts fwd pretty hard.  To get back to near 50/50, adding weight near the rear tire and down low appear sensible.  The Guzzi below is (or was) of a pushrod record holder in Open and MPS with a Charlie Toy full fairing.

He installed what looks like a heavy oversized gel cell battery mounted to the frame, not the swingarm I believe.  This seems to be a good way to go in his case.

Hey George
What has your friend done , if anything, to the steering geometry of his bike?
His riding position could be improved.
Get that rule book out and start reading, again.
