Removing Mirrors on production class cars
« on: January 02, 2021, 10:31:17 AM »
The rule book says trim and emblems are OK to remove, must remove wipers.  All the pictures of production class cas show the mirrors removed.
Does this fall under the trim and emblems rule? Can't find a rule that's says it's ok but everyone seems to do it.??

There used to be a rule that required exterior mirror removal... unless they were molded into a body panel IIRC.  Don't know where it went, but don't leave them on there.

My guess is that since mirrors are not mentioned on the to be retained list is that you can remove them.

Mirrors may be removed in Production classes. More tribal knowledge that will addressed in the 2022 rule book!

Thanks for the help.  :-)
I will be making some recommendations for the 2022 rule book to clarify some of the rules for people new to the sport.

Sounds good. There is a formal procedure in place in case you're not aware.
On the SCTA-BNI website there is a form that needs to be filled out and submitted.
You are more than welcome to run your proposals by me and I'll help you with the process.
My contact information is on the bottom of page 208 in the 2020 rule book.
Cheers, Mike
