"The Bonneville Salt Flats: Decline of the Fastest Place on Earth"
This is a Youtube video from Curiosity Stream on the salt flats. It spends a bit of time on the history, but then gets into land speed racing and the current problems with the disappearing salt. You may have to watch a few commercials but I think it is worth it.

The commercials could be skipped easily enough, but I got tired of looking at that fast-talking Limey.  As normal when outsiders attempt to provide information about our racing activities there, a good bit of it was bogus.
