Lots of records falling this week, so the salt must be in very good condition.

Lots of records? The SCTA website only shows seven new records on the long course for the first two days (Sunday & Monday), and not that many more on the short course.   As for the salt, I drove it in the rental car.  It's better than last year (which doesn't take much!), but not that great.  There are marginal spots here and there.  I talked to one driver who told me the reason for his spin was hitting a soft spot.   I'm still waiting for SCTA to post the records that were set yesterday (Tuesday) morning.

Quite a few back-up runs the past few mornings I've been listening. The salt must be in decent shape.

Is Speed Demon running  360+ in 3 miles on "Bad" salt ?

The Modifier Roadster looks a lot like the car Larsen and Cummins ran before the liner. All that's missing is the Racer Brown Cams logo on the fin. What engine/class are they running?

One suggestion could be to open up the electric power train categories to the rest of the classes. Rather than being lumping all ev?s into 3 classes, there should be EV3/S. or EV2/RMR. I dunno, something like that, we need to add something to keep the kids on board.

Pavement racers  ex. Loring Timing Association treat electric as another fuel type (G, F, E) and discriminate "engine" class using voltage.

Great stuff going on this year out there!

Did you see the Got Salt story about Frank Junior?  Loud car, too.  And it's just an alky engine (Arias).  Fun stuff.

The stream is up and the parade to te line starts soon.

470.016 two-way average if I did the math right.

As for the slip, the Book of Face makes it hard to capture and extract images.  So here's a summary:

8-13-20  08:08
Mile 2  297.268
2-1/4   357.941
Mile 3   383.168
Mile 4   438.626
Exit Speed  481.576
Mile 5  470.733

Wind: 3 from the W
Temp: 68.3  Humid 12%
Dewpoint: 25.75  DA: 5681 ft

Fastest piston-engine record?
