I was wonderign if it is worth the money, and more useful to Production style cars than "The Leading Edge"?

I'll be interested to see what someone says that has the book.

From this quote on Amazon about the book.........
Quote
-How aerodynamics win races. Why downforce is more important than

streamlining and drag reduction
.........it sounds like it is more oriented to the circle track guys like one other book I bought..............

AERODYNAMICS FOR RACING AND PERFORMANCE CARS.

did you get the PM I sent,

I have one of the earlier copies, very good reference book, pretty technical but alot of info regarding landspeed cars aero can be gleaned from it. It is like most present day auto aero books it does alot with wings and ground effects and down force, things that you don't do much with at Bonneville. Still a great book and good reference, I use it all the time.

I have the book also and I would have to agree with Rex, its a good book for reference.  Some of the ideas transfer over, but most of it is ground effects and wings.

That would be Dr Katz book -that's the reference that Paul Glessner uses in his popular aerodynamics seminars and is probably more day to day applicable than anything else out there-worth the buy!

I do have the book. ISBN 0-8376-0142-8, Robert Bently, Publisher. I have found the book very technical, but easy to read. It has been helpful in my understanding of the aerodynamics of our car. I don't have anything to compare with it, but to me, @ $34.95, it was worth the money.

I was looking for one more book to add to an order so I could get them postage free. This one tipped the scale so the order's on the way.

Good book I think you will like it.
It is one of the best books out there in my opinion in that it walks the fine line between being written at a low enough level that the average person can make sense of the discussion but it also includes the more technical information that with a bit of study of the graphs and such you can understand and extract information that has a more general context than the typical open wheel race cars, and road course cars it covers.
