P/PP Motorcycle Rules

(1/1)

Fixgeer:
Im helping a friend get ready for Speed Week and I want to make sure I remember rules correctly.
In the production class, are you still required to limit your steering to the 15 degrees of movement?   He hasn't limited it yet, but has the damper travel functioning correctly away from stops.
He will be racing his pink pushrod 50cc Honda for his late buddy, Joey Haupt. They were going to go out racing together this year so Andy is keeping his race spirit alive!

Thanks,
Pz

Just realized this should have gone in the Rules Question forum, please don't ban me.  :?

salt27:
You do not need to limit the steering.

Hopefully you have a rule book... That will help a lot.  If you don't have one, I suggest buy one before inspection and ensure you comply with all the rules.... Tire age, shut offs and chain guards are just a few of the rules that will stop you from running.
Good Luck, see you on the salt

Fixgeer:
No mention in the rule book or tech sheet of limits on the steering stops.
It seems that this rule may have been changed completely.

See y'all in a week!
Thanks
Pz

No need to limit for production or M classes. You cannot let a hydraulic steering damper hit its stop before forks. Implied here is that a friction damper can act as a stop. I wouldn?t do it however.
