Okey-donkey. Here's the latest - a trip from which I returned about a half hour ago.
We still don't expect to race tomorrow - Sunday. Nobody is driving on the race course so I can't tell you what it's like out there, but my mosey down the pit access road showed it dryer now that it was this morning, and especially after about the 4 it's NICE. I heard some talk about the long course drying quickly - I have no real information.
The pits are definitely drier now than they were this morning. The underground river that crosses the access road (and heads out across the salt towards the freeway) ain't completely underground. PLEASE SLOW DOWN AS YOU CROSS IT! As I type I hear they're dumping salt on the crevasse trying to fill it.
Bench racing in the pits is above excellent today. Winds are favorable for no bugs and good drying, temps are in the high 70/low 80 range, and it's quiet so you can hear the others talking. Now you're sure -- they really have been spinning tales all along and you just couldn't hear them well enough to dispute 'em!
