Glen,

It was a landslide victory for Lattin, something like 150 -270 votes :D

Congrats to all of the new board members :!:

I wish them all the best, and want to thank those who have served before them.  No one can please all of us, and I have Lattins list on the wall, just in case things go South!  I suppose Dolan will now turn to writing poetry, or perhaps a little rap music...........anyway, lets all work together and make the SCTA and Landspeed Racing better than it already is!

DA LIST
« Reply #7 on: November 19, 2006, 01:10:01 AM »
The list is one that should be on the front burner for everybody.
More than Lattin just happened and we are all responsible for the success
of the list.
The list was a good idea and all of us need to strive to make it work.
Not everything can happen but you won't find it "Going South" near as
much as in the recent past.

Wheather we agree or disagree with all or some of Jim's 13 points, it's nice to see someone step forward with a well thought out plan.

It's easy to make a general goal of something like "making racing better" but hard to measure results. The more specific the goal the easier to check results.

Being relative new to the LSR Sport I don't know the politics of the past, or present for that matter. Our focus as racers should be on making the "racing experience" better for everyone, drivers crew, fans and specially all of the volunteers that keep it running !

Let's see how we do in 2007.

Good luck, good weather and good racing !

I placed this on the E-mail list too.
.
.

Since many SCTA members read this and the land speed site I challenge all
you who want things different, better, or whatever to step up. At the end
SCTA meeting Jim thanked every body for voting (largest in years) not just
for him but voting. He asked all those interested in being on the Board for
the coming year to contact the new Secretary Russ Eyres.

Jim's goals and SCTA need new younger blood and also more M/C contributors.
He can't go beat the bushes and prod people to come and volunteer...But what
we need is those who want to but have been afraid to ask to indeed "step
up". If a new Board is formed with mostly older volunteers who continue to
do it year after year and you don't like it; don't complain.

It's thankless work. The new VP Bob Webb has told me today he is cutting
salary in half. Damnation 1/2 of nothing---how will I ever survive. I
volunteered to Jim at the meeting to continue with the timing tags and certs
and he replied please do and thanks. Many will continue as they have for
years doing needed jobs but are not voting Board positions. For instance Dan
and I have jobs/assignments but do not vote.

So if you feel you can contribute by working in a thankless/underpaid
position and attending monthly meetings this is your chance.

Good Luck to the new board and best to all of you for a successful 2007
season..................J.D.
