WF Update #8:

No racing today - Officials will be resetting signs from 10am - Noon. About noon we will be letting crews on to the salt to check their vehicles. Enola Gay will be serving lunch. Please stay off the course, the water is receding.

  Eddies Chop Shop, he's the MAN. Relative new guy, built the car himself with LS on gas and is already a 400 mph player. He might have a future in LSR. :-)

I am a realistic optimist. I used to skydive, we had a saying that I’ll modify. If you are on the Salt flats, you might race, if you aren’t, you won’t.

Our pit is dry. Yes, there is a bit of a lake driving in but 2/3 the way to the pits, it’s dry. I’ll see if I can post a picture from my phone.

It’ll dry. Been here before....

So . . .
If you're in impound - a lot of folks are - and it's dry tomorrow morning, will they be able to make backup runs on Monday's numbers, or will they need to start over?  :roll:

Just got a text from Tom Donney.  It reads as follows:
"The only racing that will take place is backup runs.  If the salt dries out enough, they will open it up for qualifying runs."

Why would they allow back-up runs but not regular runs? is the course drier at the other end??

Backups to finish what was started.  If it's too windy to race tomorrow, then you're talking Friday, and after noon, they'll be wanting to fold the tent.
