Last year I got busy and never posted many pictures - and youse guys let me know about it.

I'll be in the announcing trailer starting tomorrow so I'm doing what I can to feed your needs before I get occupied.  For those of you out here - we'll be on 89.3 FM.  CB channels 1 & 10 for course #1, 5 &15 for #2, and I forget the others but I've got a sheet in there that'll confirm and I'll letcha know.

I'm gonna go inside now and see if I can make the stream work.  I wonder what's gonna happen.   :? :?

It's just past 4PM local time here and I've got the audio stream running.  Take a listen, learn how to navigate your way to it, and forgive the crappy audio.  I haven't got the sound settings right - but at least the thing is working sorta well.

WHEW!!!!!

Okay, I don't have a schedule handy.  What time is the drivers meeting tomorrow?  I seem to remember it being at 9, but I also seem to remember when my hair was dark brown.  Whatever, when???

Jerry from Meziere (fuel pumps and stuff) is on the salt as a spectator who let his boss know he was coming out to SW.  Now he's here with some parts and know-how and the boss' blessing.

Goodyear has two guys and some tires and lots of machines and know how and they're set up in the vendor area.  I don't have the full list of vendors yet - will pass that along later, although yes, there is an ice vendor set up and selling all week.  I didn't check their prices this year but in the past any difference between what you'd pay in town gets kinda eaten up by the convenience of having them right handy.  And there wasn't much difference.

Nancy and I drove off the salt at about 5.30 and there were no vehicles in line at either course 1 or 2.  NONE.  Maybe I'll take note of who's there when I head in in the morning.

Here's the last batch of pics from today.

From inside a wheelwell on Rob Freyvogel's 496 AA/BFS Carbinite liner, which, as you might guess from the class, has gone to the methanol side.

That's all for now, folks.  Let me know if there's something I can do for youse guys.

Hey, kids -- any noise coming down the internet to you?  I think the stream is up and running but I'm still gunshy and like confirmation.

I'm gonna head to the line in a few minutes for the drivers meeting, and I'll try to get the audio back to Ron so you can enjoy the spectacle of the event.

At the line for first runs are the 715 SpeedDemon, the 883 and 497 'Vwettes, Ed Umblad's B/BGS -- really shiny and chrome and don't touch it in the sun or you'll burn your hands...

Lots of vehicles have left the pits for the line - this is gonna be GREAT!!

Slim, can you turn your mic level down a bit? The broadcast sounds marvelous, but your awesome baritone is distorting quite a bit.
