How is the timing done?

(1/2) > >>

BranZ:
The question is:  Do you have only a mile to go has fast as you can?  Do you go from a dead stop or rolling speed?  I just curious on the break out of it all.  P.S. Plan to be there next March!

bbb:
here is a video of what it looks like. standing start. this is russ montgomery on a turbo hayabusa at 209mph.

BranZ:
So, you start from 0 and have a mile to run as fast as you can?  Shut down area is a half mile? Bad Ass video.  I am already getting pumped for March! BranZ

LittleLiner:
Long shutdown is closer to 9/10 mile from the finish line.  Oh, . . did we mention the "slight" turn to the right about a quarter mile from the start?  See ya in March...

Waco Racer:
You only have 1 mile from a standing start to go as fast as you can. The last 132 feet of the mile is a timing trap that gives an average speed from the first timing beacon to the last. You then have 1/2 mile of paved shut down and another 1/2 mile of gravel and grass to shut down. Look forward to having you.

p.s. LittleLiner is describing Maxton.
