12 ORB to AN 6 fitting? Isn't that what a lathe is for?? Carry on, JB

Yea maybe... but have you seen my old Southbend... and I would need a machinist to drop by and show me how to use it to make one...  :?  Oh but for $10 I can just bypass all that and the Post lady will bring it in 3 days.... already anodized...

Mmm..... Anodized.

old but most of the stuff gets Canodized...

The wheels are at the anodizer hope to see them soon

The wiring is done, most of it tested with the Motec ECU... so far so good, been moving the program from the M4 to the M84.  The M4 is DOS based,  the M84 is windows based.... and of course it is impossible to just say convert file... since windows has not had DOS imbedded since XP.  I am keeping the XP computer alive but it can't do much else since it is not supported.  So it is slow going... pull up a screen on the old, find where the info goes on the new... fill out the tables manually....

Then I figured I'd better check to see if any of the piston and head ended up processing through the turbo... after removing and destroying about $100 worth of ceramic wrap, it appears the turbo is just fine... no metal found in the exhaust manifold, the turbine or the pipe.  I did find quite a bit in the oil pan while I was rebuilding.  Checked the manifold for cracks and leaks, looked good.

Putting it back together, may need to find or buy more wrap.... I should have some, last time I bought several rolls.

Well 5 days on the dyno and the M84 is sorted... the motor is tuned and Bockscar is going back together. I was restricted by oil and engine temps so 3000 - 11000 in 500 RPM steps at 10% throttle steps took some time...  :?  That and Johnboy came to Kansas to help me dyno
All of the functions I wired are working as planned, the last one I fixed last night.  The tach refused to work, couldn't get a new tach other than a digital... Checked and there was a signal, enough to run the dyno, but it isn't that much... I talked to Jesse Brown, he suggested it might need a pull-up resistor.... So I bridged the power and tach wires with a 9K resistor (that size was in stock at my house) and now the tach works.
Next up is tying up wires, hoses and then assembly... after that it goes on the ground to check the new spring sizes, then on the scales to balance the corners.
The clock is ticking... gotta go

It made the power I expected... for the spring I have in the gate... I do have more spring, the injectors are at 45% duty and the Motec will adjust for MAP... But I didn't  want to go to excess unless required....
I have my fingers crossed that Jon will get a couple of fast runs in... but we all know what can happen 1200 miles from home

Nice! I just checked your pre-entry and realized your primary driver is Jon Amo, the founder of this site! That's awesome, fingers crossed for the team.

Thanks, this will be Jon's 3rd meet in the car... 2017 to rough 3-4, made record speed at exit speed 5 or 6 times after coasting that mile... then 2020 World finals... a fuel injector burned a piston and head... so hoping 3rd time is a charm for him.

I'm assembling...
Thanks again Rex S for the 'luck of the Irish" deal on the filter...

Go Bockscar go. Wish we were there.
A Bonneville Lakester please barman.
Certainly sir; a lick of salt, a sip of gas and a twist of Lemming. More Lemming sir?
Just a squeeze.

A Squeeze of Lemming it is sir.

OK got the car on the scales with Ross (MC2032) sitting in because he is a lot closer to Jon's weight than I am...
I installed lighter springs in the front... moved the front springs to the rear to lighten those as well and we set ride height.  Looks like it totals out at  1755,  826 front, 929 rear.... so 47% front, 53% rear.. the fronts were 15 lbs apart the rears were 1.
I'm happy with those numbers.... and yes there's some ballast bolted into the nose.
Locked down the shocks... Assembly continues tomorrow
