OK, car and motor back together and getting loaded today...  running World Finals in I/BGL class.  My son James will be driving.  Hoping the MoTec program changes and the new intercooler will get him a faster ride... the white dyno will let us know.

But according to the results page you linked to Thomas, Bockscar ran 246.592mph yesterday.

So slowing a little ...  :|

That's a one and a half percent slowdown -- could just be the wind.

Well, I have the opinion that my note was written in proper English....

maybe it needs only a proper reading....

the note said

that the record was

SET

IN THE FOURTH MILE

and not in the fifth....

if James could have finish the return run also through the fifth mile under his own power

the record would have been in the range of 248......

James was on his return run

in the FOURTH mile so fast

as he was on his qualifier run

in the FIFTH mile

he was going 7.5 mph faster on the return.....

just to clarify this SLOW DOWN..... :dhorse:

OK here we go... it has been a fairly busy coupe of days.
James ran the car at SW and picked up a Red Hat... 224 MPH... while I was cleaning up after SpeedWeek and prepping to run WoS in the fuel class on E85 I found some HP in the new Bell intercooler.  We had our issues but managed to get a Red Hat on Ross (MC2032) at WoS at 241... OK we are all caught up...
I switched back to gas, no dyno time but I figured we might have some gains...
James ran a qualifier... in all 3 miles.
This morning he ran the record... fast in 2 of the 3.... The last mile slowed, when he figured it out the threw the chute out but didn't get clear of the course, car made a racket when he let the clutch out.
Well as you can see we lost a few teeth on the rear sprocket.
But he still ended up with a 242.9... not bad for 1 liter...
As usual, you don't necessarily end up with a record at your best speeds... even if it looks like you are going to go fast.
We had a great year

Leon Spinks didn't have all of his teeth, either.

Still wouldn't want to have faced him in the ring . . .
