dang... my youngest is starting to look like an old man...  :?   Maybe it's the beard....

BTW Congrats to a fellow motel 6'er Pat McCarville for  getting qualified and a record on the last partial day of racing.... those guys worked hard all week.  If anyone has his email or phone, PM me please...
No I didn't cut his head off, the kid did, but the white beard is definitely him... I think  1drink

Actually we're not gonna run with coffee... I'm thinking moonshine...  :clap
I have it starting and idling, transitioning to higher RPM... I was going to throw it on the dyno...

The new intercooler was designed by Bell Monday, I made a couple of changes to the water and air connections Tuesday morning... told them I needed it ASAP... It shipped out of Spring Branch, TX Wednesday evening.  Probably the best service I have ever heard of let alone experienced.  Those guys rock... It is due to be here tomorrow so I didn't throw the car on the dyno, I think I'll fit the intercooler first.  I had them build it without mounts, I made those today, and when I figure out where it goes in the car I will weld on the spuds.  The connection hoses may be the holdup.... we will see.

sorry...but it was not my idea to feed the engine with coffee...

but seeing the battery powered vent....I remembered how long I had to wait on the starting line to get my run....

meanwhile I could easily brew a good coffee....

for the engine...I would prefer water of life....

🤔....If you were to install a 12v primary fermenter? It could do double duty

Jerry, i was actually thinking that the engine could be used to heat the fermented mash to distill fuel....

Pork Pie, sorry I ruined the potential water of life by pouring race fuel in it.... But I have some already bottled, after it spent years in a wood cask...

Intercooler.... out for delivery

Well Bell Intercoolers came through.... they built just what I said I needed to fit the car.... and delivered it early.
I welded some mounts on it and it is getting close... now if I just had the 90 degree 2-2.25 silicone hoses we would be in business.
I used one of the firewall holes that mount the old intercooler, figured out where the other 2 mounts could be welded to not run into anything else... I'll get those holes drilled maybe tomorrow....
Here is where we are right now...

Dean, it starts pulling timing at 150F... by 170F it is dragging 3 degrees... I hope the new "5 times the size" intercooler will keep us nice and cool... may not be as necessary with E85, but I would like to have it in before I run it on the dyno.
I could run the lower rpm stuff... There's time, I have a week and a weekend... leave for the salt 6 Sep.

Bell does beautiful work. Is this replacing the old tank or running in conjunction with it?

Replacing the old tube cooler... that one is pretty small compared to the new one.
Ross came over to help, it is mounted, the water is sorted and it is ready for the air connecting  hoses.
John, I may need to come over and borrow your hand beader.... I think I will end up shortening the upper and lower tubes, requiring just a little bead work.  I'll call you Sunday.

OK, to set the record straight I don't need to borrow John's (ggl205) hand beader... he looked and it wasn't in his tool box, so I looked in the pile of his stuff I have a my shop....  :-o there it is....

While impatiently waiting for the turbo hoses to arrive... maybe tomorrow... Ross and I put the car on the dyno, ran a few idle to power transitions and discovered it is running a little lean... made a few adjustments and decided to wait to do any more till the hoses are on.
