Serious non-racer crash on the public access road.  Two non-racer (we think) vehicles head on crash, with serious injuries.  I sat in traffic and watched three helicopters take off.  Racing is suspended for a good while as things get reset.

Damn.  Best wishes and prayers to those involved in the crash.  No known cause yet, no official word from SCTA on what happened.

Fortunate for the injured parties to be taken to U of U and NOT The dreaded, well named "Death Star" in Murray, AKA Intermountain Medical Center.

Their track record is nothing to brag about.

I Don't know about that, They reattached my right leg in 2010 when I virtually cut it off through the patella knocking off the Tibia, fibula and all the tendons.
I can walk, work out and run normal.  Right leg is stronger than the left now.  And there is no pain from the bolts and plates.  Aside from a funny looking bump where the bolts stick out it is a great job the "Death Star" did on me.
The Faster you go the longer you live...it's just physics.

The #5 VOT car was motoring down the course sounding as sweet as can be when it got away from him about the 2 1/2.  He got the laundry out quickly and got it back and then motored off the course a bit past the 3.

I see the pix but haven't found details. New engine for Joint Venture or just new exhaust/turbo arrangement?

I am not sure how the accident happened.  This happened to me.  I was driving on the salt one way and another truck was going the other way and directly toward me.  I swerved to my right.  He swerved to his left at exactly the same time.  We were going to hit head on.  Quick reflexes on his part saved the day.  Now, in the same situation, I put on the turn signals in the direction I will swerve and watch the situation very carefully.
