Poteet and Main could have just wanted to make a pass before paying the extra entry. The record IS 437 in "C" and they have it with one of the older designs. If they had go over the 437 the run would have been for nothing because the engine would not have met the "A" they had been running under the 715 entry number.

If you forget to change to a new number when you change classes you are wasting runs and a possible record.
It's happened before when a record was denied do to the lack of a number change and now possibly the classification. Not sure on that one but the number I am.

What are you using for internet connection?  Seems to me that you need a lot of bandwidth.

We feed through my little Jetpack (600k or so at this point) to Meridix.  Using not very much - less than a gigabyte/day.

We're on an all-course hold fo a while. There was a crash/rollover on the pit access road and everyone has responded - so no racing.  Stay tuned, and NO, IT WASN'T A RACER.

I'm really trying not to be judgmental, and I hope everyone's okay and that this was just a fluke, but a rollover on the pit road

I looked up Poteet and Main and they did pre enter both classes. Either a typo error or in fact they have not taken the vehicle back thru inspection. The number for "C" is 1715...
When I was doing the timing tags for Bonneville years ago I saw this quite a few times where the person entering the data only saw the name and when came up it was "self loading" and was not noticed by the person... Mostly by numbers however and not names. I have no idea how the program is set now. JD.

We ran the Short Course Saturday to get our driver, Willie Martin, an upgrade to the 200 MPH "A" license.  He did set a record of sorts -- the odometer read the 4 miles it took to get to the 3.  High speed of 180 near as we could tell.  His nickname is Guard Rail Willie because of certain street problems.  From what Bill Lattin, who followed him down the course, told me the next morning, he would have earned that name on the salt if it had guard rails.  Why it didn't spin, I have no idea.

Talked to Jim Dincau yesterday.  His beautiful blue 27 Street Roadster (in F, I think) has wheel speed sensors in it.  It read 140 for the front tires and 168 for the rears before it spun on the Short coarse Course.

That does not make for good reading. Fingers crossed nobody was too seriously hurt (I know that is an odd comment, but I hope you all know what I mean).
