-20 this morning. Add the wind chill and we were at something around -30F. I loaded the boiler (we heat with wood) last night -as much as I could cram in the firepot -- and it was very low and cooling when I got out there an hour ago. Warmer for a day or two -- like Chris says -- but -14F overnight Sunday.
The good news is that there's lots of wood left in the woodshed -- enough to support heating in these temps for about 3 months. I think we'll make it through -- more likely 'til about next Thanksgiving. And cost for all of this warmth? -$100/month. We sell our wood as well as heating with it -- that's why there's a minus sign in front of the number.
Oh, yeah -- didja see that Marquette has got the highest amount of snow in the nation? I'm not sure who does the counting -- but still, it's quite a bit. Too cold to snow these days, though. . .
