My point though is they qualified on the run.  It doesn't say qualifying mile.
It may be grasping at straws for my friends across the river, but hey what are friends for?

Unfortunately for Gary is the SCTA/BNI rule different as the FIA.

As FIA you have to run on the return run the same mile/kilo as on the first run, but the FIA is only interest in the overall average - so if you was in the first run slower than the current record, it's doesn't matter.

But in the other way, for FIA you have to be 1 % perecent faster than the old record, this is not necessary for SCTA/BNI.

Hope that the damage on Gary's bike is not so much as it looks in the pits and he can run the bike again this year.

If you qualify in the 5th mile, the back up run must be in that same mile, real simple. You cannot mix miles to achieve the record. :shock:

It would be great if they could put it back together and run FIM in Sept.
