750 Land Speed Record
« on: August 08, 2006, 03:40:27 PM »
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong while finding out what the 750 Push Rod Engine record is?

The class is PBG Supercharged Push Rod Engine: Gasoline

But when I go to the records for MPS-PBG/750 it shows a  Honda  at 136.127. (deleted soft record comment)

I do not remember Honda making a 750 Push Rod Engine..

Any help?

Sorry that is a term I picked up off this forum

I should have said that it looks doable for my circumstances.

Cheers

The 136.127 record is MPS/PBG.  The M/PG record is 137.218  The MPS/PG is 151.419.  All of them "doable".  Just like the beautiful gal you met in the bar who told you to "drop dead".
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

WOW!

I guess I should run what I have, which is my old road race Norton.

It will be a lot cheaper if you don't go after a goal, and beings I have got the bug, it would probably be best to run time only the first year.

It is a relief and still disheartening but it gives me more time to practice on my walker .

Now the only thing that I need is a leather stretcher to get over the belly.

Cheers

Why don't you bring the 750 if it's a runner and run it for time only? You would certainly learn a lot and that would be with the bike you plan to use later.
Remember, that could save you a year down the road because there has to be a first time for the 750 also.

You will not only have an idea about tuning but you may also find something you would want to change as far as comfort for a 3, 4 or 5 mile pass.

Nothing beats SALT TIME.

The Norton is an 850 but seems to run good and every thing is pretty fresh but I am sure it will barely break 120. maybe good enough for my license....

I was at the BUB event last Labor day with Max and Donny Angel of the Vincent streamliner bunch.   If Randy is the young-en that came up with Fritz, I met him also. I think he put the Honda in the AMA books cool stuff.  Anyways I hope to go again at least a couple of days.

I have gone to few of the El Mirage events this year watched Fritz and Tatro's run last time. Nothing like a push rod engine at full song..

I will try for Sept see how it goes..

Cheers
