Slim, thank you for setting up the broadcast.  For those of us unable to get to the salt this year, it is a great "fix" for us.  :-D

Just got word from University hospital that the steam car driver is alive and giving his partner (Robin) some "lip"   :)....Chuk has some injuries which may require surgery... however no apparent head injuries...so far all good news....

What happened???

Hi again, girls and boys.  The steam car saga goes a bit like this.

This morning the car left the line and was building speed just fine.  He was running on a 145 record and turned in a 144 last mile.  He pulled the chute -- and that's approximately when he went into a flat spin.  No, I don't know if he spun and threw the laundry or the chute came out and tugged him around.  The wind was not very high at all.

So - he spun and then the car flipped over and landed on the top.  It took quite a while to not just get the driver to the ambulance and off the salt, but also to clean up the bits and pieces.  Longer than usual, I mean.  Maybe the boiler exploded when he went topsy-turvy?  I don't know anything about that -- only that the course was on hold for quite a while.

One of the riders with the Fred Vance group went down on her bike.  She was riding one of Ryan Ostergard's Busas and for some reason got off at some speed.  I talked with Fred afterwards and he knew nothing at that point - and I still don't know any details.  The rider was named Jennifer (I think he said that), and it was NOT Brenda Sue.  She was with the rest of the crew when I heard from Fred about what was going on.

I think I'll copy this to the WoS results topic, too.

I'll see if Gregg has any idea of what's going on.  Thanks for the report.  Are you sure that it isn't just a bit of dead air when Ron stops to eat a bite of breakfast?

Any chance of a Microphone reposition to get a little more of the speeds and commentary? The engine sounds are loud and clear, as is the printer, but the commentary is somewhat faint.

Otherwise, great to be able to hear some of the action. Thanks for the Audio Feed.

It sounds like there's another mic open. A couple of guys are having a conversation and it's louder than Ron.  Wayno

Gregg's laptop to mine -- and the danged thing won't work right.  The long course is still closed and we're trying really really hard.  Gregg's leaving tonight and taking his machine with him and I've gotta use mine in the morning.  But first we've got to make it work, right?

Let me know if you're hearing things -- 'cause wee can't hear it here.
