Don't try this at home

I guess it could be called LSR.  Kind of reminds me of Jack's bowling Ball.

Gravity Sucks
« Reply #2 on: July 23, 2006, 10:56:54 AM »
The Gravity Powered Vehicle Association has regular wheel to wheel race events and speed trials
on the hill from the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
They use pedal bike frames and motorcycle type fairings for the partial streamlined class.
Their lay down class is like a skateboard with stand up, lay down head first , and lay down feet first.
If it will go from here to there, somebody has the fastest, and it ain't for the soft hearted.
The speed "Open Road in Traffic" record for the Luge Board was a carefully guarded secret and only listed
as "Pending Ratification" until the CHP testified in court and the ticket was ratified for speed down Cajon Pass.
And as Ack mentioned, I am listed as the "Unlimited Bowling Ball" record holder.
The stiff sentance, more than the speed will keep the attenpts to beat it to a minimum.
 I know I did.
They really made it hard for the next guy really fast.
I helped them with the rules and timing equipment for the permitted events, the others were private time efforts.

The post event inspection was shown on the film.
It consisted of a lot of people asking "Ahh, wot yu do dat fo ?
An accurate answer is used to assess brain damage and the inspection
also includes a parts check that you might expect. .

I must have read too many of Jack's posts.  I guess I'm fluent in Dolanese now, and that's close to what the narrator was talking.  I could understand what the narrator was saying.

Unh, next time down do you think he'll wear a full-face helmet?

Why OR WHY NOT ?

I wonder if he still remembers when it was just an idea.
That was the brain damage he started with.
What is the need for a full face helmet, he doesn't have a full face anymore to put in it.
To quote a local elder "Ahh, why you want do dat ?"
He was a wise old man and wise helped a lot with him getting old.
Always look to your elders to see how they got there.

Nick, if he was on a unicycle he wouldn't have got far -- certainly wouldn't have been going that fast!

HOP ROD !
« Reply #11 on: July 23, 2006, 05:03:25 PM »
I have a Hop Rod I would love to see him try.
As for the suspension, he will be in it for a few months.
I wonder if he can run backwards better now that his knees work the other way ?

Hey, Jack - ever given any thought to setting a record with a Hop Rod?

I was leaning toward booking a pilot.
Don't they have lots of money ?
We could do altitude, duration , and distance.

The Turbonique bolt on the diff is ready for you to pick up.
Remember the rental and deposit has to be cash up front.
I have the 12 page release all ready for you.
