Hey Glen thanks, that's exactly what my head had in it ,just didn't make through my fingers. Might of been from this weekend heat at El mirage.
Let me throw this theory / question out there to ya all. The hot 105-110 degree weather and dry, does this reduce the air drag across a given car?
thus providing the opportunity for higher speeds?
salt is OK, but the DIRT is where it's at!

Yeah blame it on the heat. It was 114 here yesterday and I survived with no heat related brain fade or fingers that can't think. It must be a SDRC thing. Either way it was a good run for unblown.

...............and I'll bet you weren't outside while the sun was up.... 8) .

If there was anything to gain aero wise from the heat I'll bet that was way more than offset by the lower HP number due to the heat.  Great run by them and a lot of the others.  We can hardly get ready for Speed Week, so I admire these guys that have their cars ready to run for all of these meets running up to Speed Week :D

1. Head winds actually blow.
2. Crosswinds suck.
3. Tailwinds are HORSEPOWER

Herr. Pork Pie....Since my last post I now have most of the answers to my questions to you.... by way of BUB....WHAT... it is powered by a HONDA engine....I think out in the back of the shop I still have a couple of NSU engines if needed.
It will be great to see the bike
on the salt....Best of luck with the project.

Did anyone see how the Steinneger & Eshenbaugh roadster did this weekend?  They are from Phoenix and were shaking the car down at El Mirage in preparation for Bonneville.

Yes, that tailwind was a real bonus. Great meet overall. I was particularly taken by the workmanship on the tanker #66. John.

Thanks spdracr, we were happy with that record as I know you were
with your B/FR record earlyer this season. Are ya coming to B-vill ?
There are some more W W records to be had out there. 8)
Of coarse Ed Stuck will be there with his awsome B/FR so it won`t be
easy. But I guess if it was easy it would`nt be as fun.
And for the record its Cummins-Beck-Davidson C/FR.

Congratulations John, you guys have worked hard for that record (it was that picture of Donny). Now if you could just get JD to figure out how to get more than 17 letters on a timing tag.... :)

Yup, Heinz is using a Honda frame and engine - NSU was in 1956 the biggest motorcycle producer in the world, today it's Honda.
So he thought to use the Honda - doing with the NSU engine it would be a problem, not the engine - but the replica of the frame was simple not possible.

If you be at the BUB, say hello and tell him the best regards from Pork Pie - unfortunately, I helped to get this all managed, but I have no time to be also at the BUB.

Heinz will welcome evry visitor in his pits, especially NSU freaks....
