600cc Project 200

Ok, I have a question. I assume that Project 200 is refering to MPH.

So, what's your guess as to how fast the Amo bike will go?

Just to help you along:

APS-BF   Carl Francis   205.689

Ah! Much better looking here. Still, 600cc is only 60% of 1000cc. I'm still sticking with  192mph.

Thanks for the heads up Jon. Don't know where my head was at.
(I had the 1000cc speeds listed as 750)
Oh, and Jon, I'm still rooting for 200!
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Dean,

Thats all good and interesting information... But the 750cc class you represent is incorrect. It should be 1000cc in the classes you listed.

Reconfigure and repost what you think... Im guessing about 120 mph....

Thanks for taking an interest in my project Dean, and posting the speeds will be interesting... You had to have really thought about it for a little while to come up with numbers and start looking thru the rule book at the speeds.. Thanks again.

Jon

220 hp at sea level was what the Dynojet showed on my bike on gas when it left the shop.  Extrapolate to 4,200 feet and you have ?xx? hp.

That power, whatever it was, went 202 first mile, 203 middle mile, 203.97 last mile -- in '04.

Body work on my bike is "similar" to what Jon's running except the front piece allows him to get his head more out of the breeze than I could, and he's WAY smaller than me for the rest of him, too.

Result:  Unh, 200's not out of reach, that's for sure, if the motor'll make 180+ hp in Denver.  I'd sure like to see him wearing a red hat, that's also for sure.  Hope it last for at least two good runs, Jonathon.  Good luck!

Is your bike turbocharged Slim? if it is you boost recover @ 4200'. Same output with only the pressure ratio being different. Bonneville only works against you if your normal aspiration.

Dave, should I tell him about the old Hoover vacuum cleaner motor I've got tucked into the nose of the bike -- and that microwave power receiver so I can keep the vacuum sucking all the way down the long course?  Or are you talking about the "other" Jon and what stuff he's bringing to the table?  I'll let him tell his own stories.

Dynoroom -- yup, I understand that Jonathon's got a turbo and that I don't/didn't have one.  I was just trying to offer all the parameters I could so that comparisons could be made (at the risk of the maker, but at least with some background).

Me  intoxicated never touch the stuff.. well other than my lips LOL.. I might take the edge off after everything is in impound though.. It can be a mighty thirsty place out there.. I have a couple of good ones from Australia in '95.. First is the fire crew..They were FIA guys that normally worked the Australian GP.. They were all over the LSR deal Racing with plenty of beer when finally off duty. second was one of the local guys and sorry it is too long ago to give credit where it is due as they probably visit this site as well who ever you where if you remember chime in.. Any way it is maybe the second day on he salt and about 4 in the afternoon I was getting a hamburger with extra flies on it no charge for the flies. If you have them put enough onions on the burger you can't taste them anyway. Anyway I ask him for a beer to go with the burger.. he says what kind do you want.. I say which one can I drink the most of without getting full. He gives me a funny look that I actually thought odd at the time because most of the Aussies i met can put their share away.  Finally i tell him..Look here is how it is..I am in the middle of nowhere racing a car that the clocks refuse to time a return run eating a burger with extra flies thanks for not charging for them by the way.. and trying not to get bit by the 26 varieties of poisonous bugs here and remember to shake out my sleeping bag so no scorpions are in it.. Ok so i am not a beer connoisseur.. But somewhere between now and 7:00 pm i predict a buzz in my future..LOL So yeah that tuner.. Never made so many passes 30 over the record to not get one.. How could the clocks time 75 mph and 300 and not 215????? Another story on how to get hosed.. Something that was suggested I not mention but it is something that has ticked me off for 11 years as well. the guilty know who they are never seen them on this site but are at Bonneville most years.. Oh well rant over..
