i need your help with a race team name, any ideas
« on: July 13, 2006, 05:21:35 PM »
Here is the story.
My younger brother and I are building a 1977 Camaro to race in Bonneville. We are going to compete in the land speed races. Our 2007 goal is to join the USFRA 130 MPH and 150 mph clubs

We need a Race team name. I can't allow myself to call us the "McLane bros race team".  Too boring, I need original

More back ground to work off of:
Scottish (i.e. kilts, haggis, single malt, bag pipes)
Camaro, bad haircut, chevy
Poor or broke guys
Junk yard parts
Evil or devil (Lucifer)
ford towing a chevy to the races
arizona (aka hell on earth)

Looking for names in the following area

Funny names:
kom-on-i-wanna-lay-ya
lack-a-nooke

Nostalgic:
Sinners (taken, a local rat rod club)

Evil:
Lucifers hammer

MISC
Powered by wiskey racing
Single malt and salt

Give me your crazy ideas, do your worst

Side note: i run with a group of offroaders that run 70's ford trucks off road at night only. we hit the mountians at sunset and hopefully emerge at sunrise.
we go by the name "night crawlers"   a lame play on words.

This year we are tring to get an 82 vette over 200!

let me know if I can help ya out!

Can't speak for the USFRA but what ever you write on the entry name line for BNI or the SCTA will be on the owned by line on your timing tag or record certification if you achieve a record. J.D.

Is a class record set at a USFRA meet not recognized and certificated by SCTA also ?
Who makes the timing tags ?

JD does the tags for SCTA-BNI. I put the same info into the rulebook.

I would get on the track before trying to think of a name, try Thunderbolt Grease Slapper.

Add: previous post.

Yes, SCTA-BNI does accept a USFRA record when a meet is attended by an appointed BNI car and motorcycle certification person. Timing tags or paper certs are the providence of the USFRA.

I disagree 100%. As we start this venture i need set the tone with my crew.  i need the create a pride of ownership and teamwork.  a fun creative team name is a cheap and effective way to do this. That is management 101 stuff.  Hell Donald Trump used this technique on that crappy tv show.

Not meaning to be disrespectful, just stating my opinion.

As far as any "official" record book entry, I would want the following name ?Charles McLane? My brother and I share the same first and last name. Long family tradition, and since both of us will be doing 95% of the work, why not have both of our names.

Carefully with the words, this website will be read also in Germany, and in Germany are controller who check the internet for so words and at last they could shut down the website for Germany...would be a nightmare.

Thanks for your understanding

Name before the record?

Set a record first and let someone else name you.

No one will remember a name unless you do something first.

Vesco ran over 400 MPH and he didn't need a fantasy name.
