Looking to rent a car for B-ville
« on: December 26, 2013, 06:06:08 PM »
Hi Guys and Gals
I have a few well to-do friends that would like to try their hand at Bonneville. This would be the first trip for any of them. All of them have years of experience at drag racing 180+mph dragsters and door cars. They have the money to build a car but would rather rent a car. They would be willing to build the engine and transmission. They are looking for a solid well built car that is capable of 200-225 range. They are not looking to break records they just want to say they went 200mph at Bonneville. They would like it to be a coupe/sedan and would prefer something in the early years 30-40s.
This is just in the exploratory stages.
So if you have a car or know of someone that does please PM me

Group location is in Southern California

Kinda hard to find a lot of old sedans in the 225 range...Maybe Mike Cook could build something for them.... Not many rentals out there.... Rob's Corvette would be good... they could buy it, race it and sell it for half of what they paid    If they started earlier, John's Stude was available... but it sold.
I would go through the For Sales and buy... then sell cheap  :-o

Thanks for the advice, I agree finding a rental will be a challenge. But you will never know unless you ask.

I should add that they are in the southern California area.

That should make it easier.

Trick will be finding one that's been active recently enough to be up to tech.
