Just got a call that the wind is too much to continue.
It didn't sound like they went 2 full rounds.

Barely started the second round when the winds came up. 20mph cross wind on the far end. It went from bad to worse and they called it at 1 pm. I thought I heard that there were 97 entries. Pretty good turn out. Saturday was a ghost town. Everyone must have heard that it was blazing hot. It was 106 when I got there at 3:30 pm. Ugh.

The morning was stellar, not sure about later as we left after Round 1.
Temp was hot, but some clouds obscured the sun which helped.
However, just heard about Bill W. @ the LTA, makes our day kinda deflated now.

I personally thought it was a great meet.  There were definitely a few records set early on in the morning which BTW was nice and cool with some cloud cover for a while.  I had a pretty big group of rookies (big for a July meet).  There were a few new vehicles that showed up including a really neat looking sprint-car styled car, a nice rear engine mod roadster from Eddies Chop Shop and a really big black motorhome of all things.  Yes, a motorhome was there to race.  No, no class... just TO.  I literally had to climb into the thing and get up into the drivers compartment to check the driver's belts.

Once the clouds cleared out it got pretty hot.  Other than that the weather held up nicely.  The course also held up nicely as well.  We got four rounds in as there was a relatively small turn out which is typical for July.  I normally don't like July meet's because it can be so f'ing hot but this one was actually a lot of fun.

That's all for now.  See ya on the salt!

Did the Motor Home run?  I know he was scheduled to run last in case he blew the windows out.  If so (run), how fast?

Yup, everything.  I had to climb up and over the jungle-gym cage to get to the driver.

They said they were gonna hold it down to <130 as requested.
(Or, maybe, that's all it did.)

They put a lot of effort in it.  It was an old GMC 26(?)-footer, the longest.  It was entered at SW last year, but didn't make it.  It's got a 502" BBC in it -- front-wheel drive.

They have to replace all the side windows (probably with aluminum panels) before SW.

That motorhome was super cool! I'd love to see it seat 15 passengers, though.
