Why do you think we motorcyclists lay down on the tank?  Streamlining?  Naw,  Its all that flatulance being put to good use.  We generate our own "El Mirage horsepower".

EdW. Garbage trucks may be cursed but the 50's engines which powered them are not..My garage and storage area are full of them.....
I'm considering asking the powers to be if we can add some lane "speed bumps" so I won't drive off the course as my senility continues to manifest itself every June 12th. That maybe why Bob Jr. doesn't drive and Judy does..... :P

there were 139 entries at this past meet. I wonder, if we had a cutoff at 60 years old, how many would be left?

I:P

That's why they are cursed....How'd you like it if your heart were ripped out of it's nice comfy sweet smelling bod, pumped full of nasty nitrogen compounds that raised the pumping pressure six or eight times what it was designed for instead of reducing the pressure?  Imagine all those nice little engines cowering in your shed as you contemplate your next victim for the nitromethane treatment.....the poor things!! Shame on you Mr. Tone...... EW

Of course, there are drawbcks to advancing age, as Scott has so kindly shown us.  As far as I remember, subtracting 1959 from 1999 would yield 40, not fifty.  Maybe it's an age-related deficiency. . .

I'll bet he was thinking '49 (first speed week), typed '59, and no telling what he saw 8) .  Happens to me all the time now  .

Yeah, Sum, I thought of that, too, but why pass up the chance to take a shot at someone, whether for goofy math or goofy typing skills?

I appreciate it very much that none of you have commented upon the lack of an "a" in the word drawback (as I typed it).

Signed:

Jon, who would be a better typist if my tenth-grade typing teacher hadn't been so well developed and distracting to us 15-year-old boys.

Well my spelling checker caught it, but I decided to let it slide.  I thought picking on one biker at a time was in my best interest :P .

I would like to ask the mods to delete this thread.  Should the powers that be and wannabes from the SCTA see this we may have several new chapters of rules next year.  Not to mention birth certificates etc.
