So-Cal Speed Shop Spl Heritage Streamliner on Ebay
« on: March 27, 2013, 07:05:32 PM »
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/So-Cal-Speed-Shop-Spl-Heritage-Streamliner-Hot-Rod-SCTA-1932-1933-1934-Ford-/261191271367?forcev4exp=true

Up for auction is the heritage So-Cal Speed Shop Streamliner.  The car is the result of an excruciating and detailed study by Webb Automotive Art that has yielded the recreation of So-Cal’s first Streamliner.  This Streamliner is built in the exact same manner, with the exact same type of parts as the original car.  Nothing of the original Streamliner survives today, with the exception of the SCTA timing tags from its historic and recording setting runs.  The most historic and fastest timing tag, from a 210.8962 MPH run in 1950, is attached to the instrument panel of this heritage Streamliner to pay homage to what few alive today have witnessed.

I just saw this and have no financial interest in this. Phil

Interesting.  I see you have no financial interest in the car.  Unfortunately I have no financial to be interested in the car.
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

It is beautiful, but the fun of a car like this is building it, not owning it.  I'd almost rather see an incomplete project of this nature for sale than a completed project.

Well, I guess we're making a LOT of progress . . .

I never have seen pictures of it running "naked" as it is today.

$300,000 would build a really competitive modern streamliner. It is a neat car, don't get me wrong. Just a lot of money for a car to park in your living room.....

I kind of like the GEICO ad near the top.  Wonder what they would charge to insure the car for grocery getting duties?

Anybody want to bet we will see it at Barrett Jackson soon? and someone that has no idea of what it is or what it is worth will pay big dollars for it.

I wish I had a buddy that is able to buy a $125k bike.  "Hey, good buddy, could you help me get my new streamliner financed?  I only need another $200,000 or so. . ."
