For those looking for streaming audio I just found this in my inbox:

SCTA Announces Audio Streaming of the 2013 Bonneville Speed Week Orosi, CA USA, July 30th Tuesday, 2013

Scott C. Andrews SCTA Secretary/Chief Timer

The SCTA wishes to announce that for the first time a live audio broadcast will be available through the SCTA website www.scta-bni.org. This is a first for the SCTA in officially releasing real time audio information from the famed Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah during this year's Speed Week.

Sponsors, fans, supporters and families of those in competition can join with the announcing staff consisting of Harold Osmer and Ron Christensen during the entire week of speed trials and record setting attempts this year. The SCTA is expecting in excess of 500 vehicles in competition to break those elusive and special SCTA Bonneville records and now you can hear the show as it happens live.

To hear this year's show simply go to the SCTA website www.scta-bni.org and look up the link under 2013 Bonneville Speed Week information. After you have clicked on the link you will be sent to a special page with the show streaming live.

The Southern California Timing Association (SCTA) sanctions land speed racing trials in two locations. Racing is conducted six times each year at the El Mirage Dry Lake bed in Southern California and also the world renowned Bonneville Speed Week in August combined with the World Finals in October of each year at the Bonneville Salt Flats in northwestern Utah.

Will a newer addition of Speed Week 2013 require a new FAVORITES tag on my fone?

Personally, with Max AWOL this year, had SCTA not picked up the streaming, I might have had to do some babysitting and/or tweaking with the Landracing.com rig.  For this year, anyway, it's one thing I'm grateful to have off of my plate.

I'll talk to Jon next week about Wilmington events - the system's very portable.

Ray, I'm sure ill catch salt fever but I already know I won't have the support of my wife if I decide to build a car. Looks like ill have to be content being a crew member who gets lucky and is allowed to make some passes in whatever car I'm workng on

Here's a "heads up" from a fairly reliable source.
Tooele County has been crying about running short on funds for about a year now.
It would seem they are Tango Uniform big time.
One slip on the banana peel and it's DEE-troit City all over.
That means "REVENUE ENHANCEMENT, AKA $$$$$$$$$ is the name of the game.

As has been noted here prior, do not exceed 45 on approach road to Land's end,
Do not have glass containers visible or litter.
If you are late to set up pits  in the o'dark thirty hours, do not speed down the hill from Wendover center exit.
Johnny loves to hide under the bridge.
Camping at Mikes makes a lot of sense, since BLM is not happy with the situation at "Bend in road".

Make a full stop at Exit 4, near Intrepid, eastbound or going to the track.
A friend of mine got nailed there on his B'Day for a rolling stop.
What tree the MAN fell out of, we don't know.
Just common sense things.
Regards,
Jim

And 1 more addition.....Seat Belts!!!  They love to pull you over for seatbelts!!!  when you hit the pavement at Land's End, get rid of any open container, fasten the seatbelt (across your chest, not behind your back!) cruise the road at 45 mph and come to a FULL stop at all stop signs!!!

First year I went to the Bonneville, I was driving just past the bend heading to the Lake and I remembered Lynda's and Slim's words
"don't speed on the road in"
So I was cruising along at 45 in the rental car, and a giant pickup came past me at about 75
the next thing to go past was the police. that was on the Thursday
Yep, they made some revenue that week

Hey Slim!
Can we separate this thread into "Pre-Speedweek 2013" and start a new "Speedweek 2013" so that in the future you won't need to go 20 pages into the thread to find the racing. Thanks!
