The first name in "Y Blocks" is Karol Miller. So any time I hear "Y" block he's the first one I think of.

Yes, legendary. Although we have the three modern Y Block legends in the making with their hands in this one

That would make walking to the taco and ice cream filling station a lot easier than from the bend

What is the Museum site?  I'm in two minds as to where to park the RV for our 4 nights - the Bend, up in the foothills or at the Nugget.  Not heard of the Museum though?

Ta, is this going to be signposted........or will it be plainly obvious when we drive into town?  I'm sure I'm worrying over nothing but I'd like to have a rough idea where I'm heading before the police pull me over for kerb crawling as I make my 15th run up the main road.

You'd have a danged difficult time missing it.  CarQuest Auto Parts is the easternmost business in Wendover, Utah -- and the museum's location is directly across from CarQuest.  Well -- absolutely directly across is a large rock outcropping, but nestled on the east side of the rock is the museum.  There's a paved access street and last year there were a few large signs welcoming Bonneville racers.  Don't fear too much -- it really will be difficult to miss it.

Some pictures to help for visual reference.

These were taken just about 24 hours before they opened the camping area last year they were still grading and finishing the site.

Not that we didn't believe you folks that have told us about the Museum site being ready -- but we wanted to have Mike Crawford confirm it to us - that we could hold Salt Talks 2013 there again this year.  And he's just done that on Nancy's Facebook page.  And sure enough, he says that an additional five acres have been cleared and readied for campers.

Salt Talks is set to happen on Sunday late afternoon -- the 11nd of August 2013.  We'll start cooking by 5.30 or so, most likely, and should have enough food and pop for at least a few dozen of you - maybe a few hundred if you don't all eat 25 burgers each.  We'll have hamburgers and chicken breasts, chips and pop.  We'll be selling Salt Talks 2013 t-shirts - I'll post a photo of the art soon - and we'll raffle off any swag that any of youse guys want to donate.  The raffle tickets will be available at the event.

Donations, please:  whether you give us a t-shirt from your race team (or a few of 'em) or framed or autographed photos (Pork Pie has been ever so kind and offered his work for a few years!  Cherish them!!)  If I can figure out how to burn CDroms I'll have some copies of Challenge - a film on the Art Arforns LSR attempts with his jet cars, and those will be available for purchase (or you might win if you buy a ticket or three).  Speaking of that film, thank Doug (Buickguy) for pointing me toward that film on eBay over the winter.

I'll end here -- but will make a handful more posts about Salt Talks as the date draws nigh.  See you on the salt!!

Many thanks to Slim and Hotrod.  Found it now on Google Maps so that gives us another option of somewhere to park the rig.  I reckon we'll also pop on down for Salt Talks, we want to experience everything Speed Week has to offer so would be rude not to show our (probably red) faces.
