I had this thought, no really ! For years we have accused the BLM of doing nothing in regards to the flats and surrounding areas,Now I'm wondering if we opened a can of worms.
after watching them comming down on people just kicking back and enjoying a small campfire to the kids putting around on mini bikes at the Bend, now we are seeing hopped up side by sides with cop light racks on them. So is the next thing patroling the pits and return road for unlicenced pit bikes and other non licenced pit vechicles, Or did we bring this on our selves ??

To bad they couldn't have policed the borders as well, instead of letting in 20,000.000 illegal alians which have devastated the construction jobs for U.S, citizens, wages, Fed and state, and social security taxes not collected.

THINK about 20,000,000 illegals ... thats half the state of Ca. or 40 citys the size of Fresno [500,000 thousand]
and that 20.000,000 million is only what the feds admit to.

Cowards picking on kids and unlicensed ATVS.

Ditch them.. run into the back of the 222 trailer, we'll slam the door shut. :-D Well next year, won't be there this year.

Just checking E mail and Debby Dannefelzer posted that the 1st preliminary trip by SCTA/BNI was canceled as
the salt flats were under water AND a good indication of a good course  :-D

Also dad Freddy, hard at work to finish new streamliner for speedweek

Kent, a little early for you to be looking for a room. Hope to see you on the salt.

Ah, June.

Two months to go and already 155 posts.

But you know things have REALLY kicked off when Kent makes his first post. Can flames be far behind?  :-D
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.

If anybody is curious. This is what the flats looked like yesterday at 41,000 feet :-D Wow it looks small at this angle. Then again what doesn't when you can see from Wells to Salt Lake City....

Trying to make plans for Speed Week.  Might have a friend help me tow my car to the Salt, arrive Thursday to set up and go thru Tech.  That buddy needs to fly home on Friday when the rest of my crew will be arriving.

Is there a reliable connection to get him from Wendover to the SLC airport for a return flight?  I don't think the casino buses will drop someone at the airport, so what else works for this?  Besides hanging at the freeway exit with thumb and/or sign....

The bus does drop at the Red Lion Hotel, where most of the pilots and flight attendants stay if they are doing a lay-over in SLC.  From there, it's a $15.00 cab ride to the airport.

Post on LR, and have the radio anouncer put out you are looking for a ride. Lots of friendly racers that will help. If you had a sign at I80 you should be able to get a ride

Been a few years since I was able to go.  Making plans to go this year.

I can't picture not having Glen on the radio.  What a bummer.

So, it sounds like no CB.  Would guess that there will be an AM feed, but that was not really aimed at the hard core observer.

I have a couple of FM frequencies, but not sure they are current.  Anyone have current frequencies?

Thanks

Last year the radio broadcast was on 89.7 FM.  If you're asking about VHF or UHF frequencies - those are for the officials, not us in the peanut gallery.

I have a similar picture of Black Rock somewhere, looks crazy small from the air. Hoping the
BLM will allow BOTH the Burning Man festival and great LSR meets in the foreseeable future.
