Any amount is better than none.

Remember how great the salt was following being flooded for several years in the past.

Thank you so much for all the pictures you've sent so far, I've also received a bundle from Wally (sidecar) and will be getting a selection printed this weekend.  Next Wednesday Lennie will be "sharing" these pictures in class at primary school and I'm going to get questions from the class.  Everyday we're discussing Speed Week in our house, is it really 92 days to go ??????????

I had a look for some Bonneville related books on Amazon but they seem very over priced.  Are there some vendors on the salt which have books for sale?  I've seen the Save The Salt book on the home page so will try and get a copy of that for sure but I'd also like to have a read of Burt Monroe's book but don't want to pay a fortune.

Thanks for the reminder- I got mine sent off!
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. -- RFC 1925

Our pre-entry got postmarked by the 10st - I think and hope.  I delivered it to the mailbox at about 4.15PM -- and then noticed the sign on the box stating that daily pickups are at 2PM.  Ah, Mr. Stan Back, SIR:  Please grant me a little slack if the envelope shows the too-late postmark.  Thank you - I hope.

Stan Back is hard at work - he e-mailed me for corrections to my entry - something about last-minute entries and how he felt like an IRS agent on the 15th of April . . .

Any way, when Stan writes in RED, it's probably best to listen up . . .  :-D

He thought it was wishful thinking when Chris entered in B/BFS
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.

Glen, Dean, Wes, Ron, etc. - the recent "wave of early retirements" among the timing/starting volunteers is quite alarming.

Don't fret Willie.  Every time a starter retires for whatever reason, another one is added to the roster.  If you like standing out in the hot sun all day long (and getting filthy if you're at El Mirage), you too could be a starter.  I've been doing it for a few years now and I really enjoy it.  It can definitely wear you out though.  Sometimes people get tired of doing it and sometimes people can't physically do it any more.  I'm still fairly young and will stick with it as long as I can.  But nonetheless, regardless of who the starter is, there will always be someone there to check your belts and send you on your way.
