Dave Campos ran in APS-F and APS-G because that's all there was. He could run the same class today. Just because you have a pushrod doesn't mean you have to run the pushrod class.

Just because he set the APS record with a pushrod engine doesn't mean he should automatically have the APS-PF and APS-PG pushrod record.

You pick the class, remember?

Quote
the rulebook would be revised to adjust the class records to reflect all the bikes that were bumped into A as a result of the ill advised mistakes they are hanging with.

Campos can't be "bumped into A", he started there.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Yes, I do remember.
Their was no Push Rod class when Dave set the record. When PR was established it should have been moved.
It is understood that Campos was always in A and should remain.
SCTA changed the motor designation and the result looks silly.
When Classic Car was established, the appropriate records were restored.

Bikers include some subject matter experts with a sence of history.
They are smarter than often given credit for.
Perhaps in the future they will be asked how deep the water is before
the jumpers actually jump and the rest get pushed.

That would be out of character for me.
You know how I am.
Only the ring wearer can be sure.  LOL

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of Da Chummittee ?
Da Chadow do.
He also knows who benefited from the slowwww record reward mentioned earlier that looks so dumb.
It is going to get worsener and worsener.
This is too easy.
Stay tuned.

Jack Dolan throws compliments around on here like manhole covers, savor the moment, if it was one anyway! Only the ring bearer knows for sure, but I think it was one.

As I understand it, this particular horse is not dead.  Therefore it will continue to be beaten.  Who knows.  Enough effort and THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM may be redressed.

What we have is longevity.
What we need is repeatability that breeds credibility.
With that we have a future with suppliers that are so desperately
needed to continue the progression of the event.
without it, you can kiss it off.

There won't be an LSR motorcycle tire problem when someone gets finished writing them out of competition.  V rating series for OEM pushrod should be good enough.

OEM  has taken on a new meaning at the expense of history, performance, representation, and innovation.

Innovation has now become one of those four letter words.  And why did tires become a problem?  Actual or percieved?  If you get in line at El Mirage and look at the car tires most of them have more cracks than a back view of a nudist colony.
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

Mexico, that Third World country to our south, is run by people who use the rules to benefit themselves and their friends.  They system is designed to protect them.  Everyone else has to go somewhere else to take advantage of opportunities and for the freedom of doing what they want away from an oppressive and unfair system.  Just a passing thought.

Tires.  M/C tires "used to have" a lifespan of 5 years written into the rules.  Cars (cracked sidewalls, exposed cords and all) did not.  It is my sincere hope the Aftermarket/OEM engine cases rule in M follows the M/C tire rule.  Out of the rulebook and into a future trivia contest:  Who screwed M class aftermarket engine case racers in what year and why?  Anyway, some innovative and really fast motorcycles are going to need LSR tires someday.  Fronts, okay with what's available up  to 300.  Rears, something more than a shaved ZR.  Hopefully they will be available.
