A couple of days ago I made a couple of comments about Jeff and his car which could be taken a couple of ways.
Me being a smartass who types faster than he thinks, I only thought of the humorus perspective and although I can't seem to find the thread, I thought I might clarify what I meant by calling Jeff a "wanabee" racer.
I have been running at Speedweek since 1998 and I still consider myself a "wanabee".  In fact I consider John Cobb, Mickey Thompson, Craig Breedlove, The Summers Brothers, Don Vesco and George Poteet as wanabee's.
Why?  Because we are not running Bracket Drag Race Cars here.  No matter how fast We have gone too date, We want to go faster: We "WANABEE" the fastest person in our class or at least see if we can meet and excede our personal goals ... why else would we spend so much and travel so far to do it.
I spent nine years running a Early Olds engine in a class dominated by New Chevrolet Big and Small Blocks.
Why?  Because I had a personal Goal to go 200 with a motor designed in 1946 and released in 1949.
I eventually went 219 with it but thats really not the point.  I just wanted to accomplish something.
I WAS, AND STILL AM A "Wanabee" on the salt and am Dodge PROUD OF IT.
Once again, I offer appologies to ANYONE offended by my Wine Fueled attempt at Humor.                                           Bob

Thank you Bob.
I hope you got the private message I sent you, apologizing for my overreaction.
I truly read it as a disrespect and a dig.
You can't find the thread because a moderator offered to pull it and let us start over. I accepted.
I had publicly apologized to you on that thread. I repeat it here. I am sorry for my overreaction.

I cant say enough about the respect I have for you and your impressive land speed race history.
You are an inspiration to all of us wanabee's ( ha ha... that was hard for me, those are fightin words where I come from)

Please, lets go racing !

Jeff, I still love the car, glad you and Bob kissed and made up.... Bob is right, we are all wannabees, we all wanna be faster than we are and faster than everyone else in class.
Congratulations on your record, and the spread in Hot Rod, just turned to that page this morning, will get to read it tomorrow morning.  :-D
Nothing better than functional art, 'cept maybe fast art

ha ha... I din't think he would publish those secrets. I've learned to listen to my elders ... * I had a filter and a red solo cup handy.
