Speed Demon still has the C motor in it.

Kim Krebs wonders who the heck in Yack is computer literate enough to get on the Forum.  What's your name?

Al Lamb's bike has about 150# of weight under the swingarm - about where the shock is.  I'll get photos later when the bodywork is off the bike.

Greg Waters found the issue on his bike -- the connector for the #2 cyl. secondary injector was not secured so the injector wasn't firing.  He's installing 100MPH tape on it - to hold it in place - as I type.

Kim's bike has some burned valves, but Jim is installing the spare motor (that he brought back from San Francisco between WoS and this event).  That should be ready, as well as Greg's bike, by noon  maybe sooner.

Speed Demon will run in A-1-10, on an Al Teague 406 mph record - per Dave Petrali just now.

Speed Demon being put on the ground now.

Here are a couple of timing slip (images) from Dave P.  These are from the first day of racing, and would have been here sooner but this Apple and his Wintel machine didn't enjoy communicating with one another.  When he sees this he'll likely say it was all my fault, by the way.

I see I can only get two of these per post.  Be patient, keep scrolling down.  By the way, one is the actual timing slip, the other is the summary page of the two runs.

Speed Demon will run soon -- we're locking down the course.  Winds are cross - mountains for freeway - 4-6 mph except here in the pits, where it's 10 mph cross.  But down here George won't be moving more than 50 slowing to 0 mph as he comes into the pit.

George is suited up and entering the vehicle.  Support vehicles are in position here and there on the track, George is getting belted in.  Course is turned over to Mike Junior who will start the run.

Course is clear, going over the final checklist for the car.  Engine is running.  Canopy is closed.

Speed Demon is under way, on the push truck.

Car is off the truck.

Through the nine and sounding good at the tower.

Through the seven, entering timed stretch

Entry 444,  kilo 449 kilo 449 mile  exit  453  chute out.
Through the eleven mile (starts farther back than the bikes, doesn't he?)

I guess it's not much of a surprise since they were running the SD on a 406 record and laid down a 449 run -- but they DO intend to make the return run.  About 45 minutes left on the clock as of now.
