I'm gonna start by seeing if I'm smart enough to post a photo of my heap. This is supposed to be a photo of my parachute door. It's made out of a '36 Ford hubcap sandwiched between a couple pieces of aluminum. It was a bit of a bear to weld together on the edge but I toughed it out.  8-) If this works, I'll fill in the blanks on the rest of the car.  :cheers: Wayno

It's about time you got started on the build diary Wayno. I got all choked up when I went into your shed and saw all the stuff , I did threaten to start posting the photo's you'd sent me but I didn't want to jeopardize the chances of ever getting another apricot wood smoked steak....

I know you've got a hamster in a wheel speed connection there but you could try starting an upload before you go to bed, before you go shopping kind of thing so you don't have to sit there for an eon watching the progress bar...there is a hungry audience out here wanting to see tanks get built.

Feed 'em.

OK. This is going to be in little bites.  :-P This is a picture of the reason for the V-8 emblem on the chute tube. "39 Mercury, 284 inches,running through a C-4 and a Greek Coupler into a Cyclone Quickchange with late axles. Hot Rod Works did all the modifying and assembly on that.  :-D  Back to the shed for now. Trent, I just mocked that scoop up using a Shop-Vac tube 'cause it had a mild taper so I could get it out. That and a bit of urethane foam. What scoop on the water tank are you talking about? Anyway, here's a shot of the car for those of you whom haven't seen it. Wayno

Trent, it's a water tank. Here's the inside before I capped it off. If you look closely you can see slots in the tubes for water passage. Wayno

Here it is closed up. The tubes offer support so the thing doesn't baloon. We'll find out.  :roll: Wayno
