When do rule books go out?
« on: February 26, 2006, 04:24:40 PM »
I am brand new, just sent in my membership and was wondering when ECTA rule books go out?

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, I searched but didn't see it.

There will be a loud voice,
the smell of ozone,
and a bolt of lightning etching the Rules in stone.

In other words, the same method used by SCTA..........
(Who knew they had re-writeable tablets?)

I expect the SCTA-BNI books to be returned from the binder next week, 3/6 - 3/10.

We should all read the new rule books and the procedures for El Mirage so we don't have what happened in 2005 @ the dirt........ 8)

No offence to the ECTA!

But they do base their rulebook on the SCTA.
So, when the SCTA finishes the new rules, we all know.

:(  Well, couldn't find the info on the SCTA site, tried to order an 05 Bonneville rulebook but they are out, 2006 books have not arrived yet. :(

Can anybody help me with some roll-cage rules?  I want to get started on the cage design for the car but I want it 100% legal.

I got an email this morning (today's 2 March) telling me that our ECTA membership cards and rulebooks

"...are going in the mail tomorrow."

One can hope that if mine are getting sent out -- so are yours.  And Dan tells us that the SCTA rulebooks might be mailed within the next week or so -- so pretty soon we'll have lots to read -- no more posting questions (HAH!)

Oh, speaking of that -- I had a couple of questions for the SCTA powers-that-be, sent an email, and got a response within an hour.  The response didn't answer my question but rather just confirmed receipt of the query -- but it does tell me that somebody saw my question and I'm likely to get an answer sooner rather than later.

I never lost the faith overall, just in some individuals that seem to be a smaller group all the time.
Don't despair ,but don't relax your hold on them either.

Deadbolt:  Look in the "Current News" smack in the middle of the home page of landracing.com -- near the bottom -- you'll see 2006 SCTA Car and Bike rules changes.  They're in pdf so you can print 'em out.  Remember they are the changes -- the rest of the 2005 rulebook is still valid (assume you've got an '05 rulebook).

Dakin:  ECTA rules are based on SCTA but are not the same -- don't be fooled and show up at an ECTA event with a setup that would pass inspection at SCTA and assume it'll be okay at ECTA.  A bike example:  Because of the short shut down at Maxton, bikes must have front and rear brakes -- at Bonneville rear only is okay.  The venues are different enough that some changes are necessary, although the basic rules are close -- very close.  Get both books and be sure!

Speed Week Registration Date?
« Reply #14 on: March 14, 2006, 05:38:06 AM »
Greetings,
Hubby sent me on-line for info so I joined your forum... NICE!
After failing to find an on-line download of the SCTA Rules, I ordered a copy from the official website. No telling how long it will take to arrive in the mail tho... Hubby wants to sponsor a 2000cc - 3000cc OHC production bike to race this year at Bonneville & this is new to us (me).

Does anyone know the deadline date to register for Speed Week? Is there an on-line version of the rules somewhere? Does he need to join any particular association? Is there a need for any special license?

Thanks Mike!! I got that & noted the following caution later in the thread. I also found the advance notice of motorcycle rules changes here & printed those out. SWEET! Any suggestions are welcome to get him on the right track... LOL
