#1161 Bike is the John Minonno bike. He has gone real fast with this blown pushrod engine (high 220's - might have even hit 230's last time out) - always look for Minonno - because something intersting is going to happen. First sit-on rider to get his AA License at 256 mph exit speed on a triumph in mid 1990's. Fantastic person to know - and will honestly always make you laugh no matter the situation - even when he got burned a few years back he was cracking jokes. An hour in hit pits will always make your trip to the salt worth it.

Lee's bike put him in the 2 Club while Don was still alive.

There may be someone else riding it. I don't think Lee wanted much more of it.

I will apologize if I am speaking out of the side of my mouth.

Today's first update:

We're RACING!!!

Now that tha's over, Kurt is working with the audio system and it'll be up soon.  We'll be doing the same basic routine as last year -- using Meridix for the audio.  As soon as he gets the address for the link I'll post it here.

We're going to be a bit left-handed, so to speak, today - because the AM radio I brought doesn't pick up enough radio signal to completely blank out the ignition noise & hash from the generator.  So - today we'll run out of the front seat of the car using the 12V/110VAC system there and the audio will get into the system via the built-in 'puter microphone.  We don't have a long cable to run from the radio output to the computer input - but if we did (and hope to find one today) we'd put the AM radio outside of the trailer where signal is stronger and then feed directly into the system.

Other audio things:  Meridix archives all of the audio, so you'll be able to go there (again, we'll point you in the right direction) and listen tonight - or next week, or for a good long time in the future.  If you're at work today and the boss won't let you listen to the audio live -- you'll be able to hear it later one.

That's it for now.  Stay tuned, and in a little while I'll get that link here for you.

Here's the URL for the Meridix - but the audio hasn't made it through the pipe yet.  Click on this and then there's a green button on which to click for the live audio.  Nothing yet - but getting closer by the second.

Just got off the phone with Wes Potter, he said they are running, course is rough in some areas, weather is awesome. Over 115 pre entries. Waiting for Jon (SSS) to post when they are set up.

Would love to see their faces and hear the thoughts. What a great thing for them to experience and what the future will bring from this event in the lives of each.  :-)

GO GIRLS.

Okay -- the audio is working.  It's a different URL than I posted a wile ago - and I've changed it there and will repost here.  The correct addy is:

http://www.meridix.com/everywhere.php?liveid=landracing

Once you're there you click "listen live" or whatever it says -- and the sound will start in a few seconds.

The evil folks where I work have it blocked.

I tried it on my DroidX and it popped up a window, but no sound.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.
