1990 the photographer and model were plying their trade in the staging line. The photographer said his wife was going to kill him, not because of the model but because business was slow and the model got a flat rate not piece work.
Once you get around to it note the ground effects tunnel built with side plates. This is also known as the year of the big spin.

Amazing photos :-D very inspirational!!!!

For those suffering from the Monday work blues and  "I'd-rather-be-at-the-salt-itis"...

I'll take soggy salt, a salt bath and a chance to spectate / participate at a LSR event over work any day... Land's End "Salt Lake" looking towards Wendover after Sunday evening's wind and rain storm at Speed Week 2011. Shot early in the morning of 15th August 2011 at the Bonneville Salt Flats by Jim Kelsall on a Canon PowerShot G10.

The Salt was a little soggy but record back-up runs did take place that morning. It just goes to show that if you are there, you might race, if you aren't, you won't...

Happy day dreaming...

'tis raining at my present location, a far cry from the baked salt...

Speedy ladies on the line. Bike 977 (Jeannie Pflum (I assume?) for Team "Butler, Pflum & Wagner") in the foreground and Bike 1976 (Leslie Porterfield and the Team "Sir Speedy Honda") in the background. Shot early morning, 18th August 2011 at the starting line for long course #1, Speed Week. By Jim Kelsall on a Canon PowerShot G10.
