[Avanti Kid]

In regards of how to deploy a chute, it depends on the car, when I drove my brothers (Pantera Kid) 1971 Pantera at 210 mph for a record, I had to drive into the chute so the car wouldn't spin out, but with my 1963 Avanti at 216 mph I can get off the power and then deploy the chute with no problems, I perfer this method best because it doen't put a load on your connecting rods when the chute load hits the engine!!!  Dave

I guess there are as many methods to pop the chute as there are cars. What works for our car is take the tranny out of gear and pop the chute. No brakes. Leave the engine running till I know I can get to the return road.
