Yamaha 500 cc pushrod?

Saw this entry at the pre-reg for Bubs:

500-M-PG 663 Mark Atkinson Mark Atkinson Yamaha 1975

Anybody ever heard of a 500cc Yamaha that is legal for pushrod class? I know about the Honda but never heard of a Yamaha.   :?

Maybe he thought it meant "lack of push rods".  :-D
